A fairly hot day with a temperature of 28°C and a high humidity level.
Every so often a gust of breeze coming from the Lake of Taihu relieves the efforts of the walkers.
The course is the usual traditional one with a 10km go & back course.
20 km men
Timely departure and immediately the group of about 200 athletes (including the U20 competing for the provinces of China) winds.
At the first km Cai Zelin (CHN) leads, but we can see immediately that it is a flash of straw, only to honor the presence in front of the public.
At 10km there are still about twenty athletes in the leading group.
A first skimming takes place at 12km when Lebogang Shange forces the pace and remain in five: in addition to South African there are, Eider Arevalo (COL), Dane Bird-Smith (CHN), Wang Kaihua (CHN), and Isaac Antunio Livgares (MEX) .
At 16km Wang Kaihua (CHN) loses meters and remains in four.
At 18km Eider Arevalo (COL) increases the pace and soon gains forty meters on Lebogang Shange.
The other two follow another 50 meters.
The race for the first positions seems to have ended, as Arevalo still gains meters, but just before the last Area of Penalty the Colombian is stopped for 30" (two red cards for loss of contact).

Wang Yingliu (CHN) is the early leader, followed by Qieyang Shenijie (CHN), who, however, slowly abandoned the walk for the victory, contenting herself with the other positions.
Around 16km Sandra Lorena Arenas (COL) and Li Maocuo (CHN) try to reach Wang Yingliu, but it will be a vain attempt.
