This morning (local time) took place in Cuenca (ECU) the two walking events of the South American U23 Championships.
Both races took place on the distance of 20,000m on track.
20.000m men's track walk
Victory to Cesar Rodriguez (PER) with a time of 1:24: 51.85
For him a good result as it boasts of a personal best of 1:23:22.96 established in Trujillo (PER) on Aug. 26, 2018.
Second place to Jhonathan Javier Amores Carua (ECU) in 1:25:12.25 establishing the new personal best (previous 1:34.35.77 obtained in Cuenca, ECU on Aug. 26, 2017)
Third place to Paulo Yurivilca (PER) in 1:25:44.23 not far from his personal best of 1:25:17.23 obtained in Trujillo (PER) on Aug. 26, 2018.
Four athletes at the start and all have completed the race.
20.000m women's track walk
Victory to Leyde Jossy Guerra (PER) with a time of 1:32:12.42
Excellent result for the young Peruvian woman who greatly improves her personal best (previous 1:37:12.65 obtained in Lima, PER on Sep. 30, 2017).
Second place to Karla Johana Jaramillo Navarrete (ECU) in 1:35:43.03
Also for you a great m, improvement with respect to your personal best (previous 1:43:19.75 obtained in Lima, FOR on Sen 25, 2016)
Third place to Michelle Alejandra Semblantes (ECU) in 1:43:33.89 she too at the new personal best (previous of 1:46.35, obtained on the road, in Quito, ECU on Aug. 18, 2018).
