30/09/2018   The finals of U18 boys and girls Club Championships

That the Finals of the U18 Clubs Championships presented in boys a parterre of non-top athletes we had already said during the presentation of the race; the only venue that in our opinion presented a duel of a certain interest was that of the Finale B del Tirreno in Livorno where Andrea Cosi and Giulio Scoli competed until yesterday, respectively fifth and sixth in the Italian 2018 list on the distance.

In fact it was so.
In Livorno the two battled from the first meter with Giulio Scoli, who undoubtedly seemed able to force at will.
To this was added also the stop in the Penalty Area of 30" for Andrea Cosi who put an end to his victory ambitions.
The race was then won by Giulio Scoli in 22:12.79 which established the new personal best (previous 22:24.02 obtained in Livorno on July 14, 2018) and which bypasses the Italian U18 list of the 2018 season the opponent placing himself in fifth position after the mark of 22:05.24 by Gabriele Gamba.

For the rest, very little to report:
- Pietro Marchetti's personal best at Bovolone in 24:32.56 (previous of 24:33.97 obtained in Vicenza on Sep. 15, 2018)
- the sadness of having seen in two locations (Cinisello Balsamo, in the Finale A and San Benedetto del Tronto, in the Final B Adriatico) the girls make a better time than that of the boys.

And the girls have shown the best in these five races scattered throughout Italy.

The best time (24:19.72) was obtained by Martina Casiraghi, winner of the Final A in Cinisello Balsamo.
Just Martina Casiraghi was one of the two athletes who, at the venue, did better than the boy (Capostagno Filippo Antonio, winner at Cinisello Balsamo in 24: 34.76). The result of Casiraghi is also the new personal best (previous 24:23.50 obtained in Chiari on Sep. 15, 2018).
Another personal best for Alessia Titone, winner in the Finale B North West of Casalmaggiore in 24:58.56 (previous 25:15.38 obtained in Turin on May 26, 2018).

The other two interesting athletes in the race, Angela Di Fabio (25:11.62) and Sara Buglisi (26:14.48) were satisfied with the easy victory in their respective venues, in particular the Buglisi who won in Bovolone distancing over 8 minutes the second (and last arrived) among other penalized 30" in the Penalty Area.
Angela di Fabio instead is the second of the athletes who did better, at the venue, of the corresponding male (Giacomo Costa, winner in San Benedetto del Tronto in 27:09.32).
