07/10/2018   Fukui (JPN): Koki Ikeda wins the 73rd Sport National Festival






Today and tomorrow the city of Fukui (JPN) hosts the 73rd National Sports Festival.
Today the men's competitions were held.
 
 
10.000m men's track walk
 
Twenty-one athletes at the start.
 
Immediately goes to lead the race Yusuke Suzuki (JPN) followed by Koki Ikeda (JPN) and Toshikazu Yamanishi (JPN).
The 20km world recordman leads the race up to 7.000m with the following split times:
- 1.000m: 4:09
- 2.000m: 8:02 (3:53)
- 3.000m: 11:59 (3:57)
- 4.000m: 15:55 (3:58)
- 5.000m: 17:50 (3:55)
- 6.000m: 23:23 (3:33)
- 7.000m: 27:29 (4:06)
 
At this point of the race Koki Ikeda (JPN) takes the initiative returning to force the pace and moving to
- 8.000m: 31:19 (3:50)
- 9.000m: 35:12 (3:53)
- last 1.000m in 3:53.44
and going to win the race in 39:05.44
Second place to Yusuyke Suzuki (JPN) in 39:25.49
Third place to Toshikazu Yamanishi (JPN) in 39:45.92
 
Six other athletes obtain a mark less than 41:00.00 among which Kai Kobayashi (JPN) who arrives seventh in 40:54.93.
