Between this weekend and the next two important national events will take place on the distance of 50km.
Both will also have some very interesting side events.
Let's start from the first one
Sunday 21st October 2018 - Reggio Emilia (ITA) - Italian 50km Championships (open)
Finally also in Italy the open-type championship race is taking shape on the greater distance.
At the Reggio Emilia competition, 13 athletes are currently entered: 6 Italian athletes, 2 athletes from Great Britain, 2 athletes from Slovakia, 1 athlete each from Spain and France.
Unfortunately, the big ones who have already finished the season are absent.
The best four accreditation times belong to the following four athletes as shown in the table below:

At these four times of accreditation is also added that of Gregorio Angelini (ITA) dating back to the beginning of the season when in Porto de Mos (POR) he recorded a mark of 4:08:22.
In the 20km men stands the presence of Gianluca Picchiottino (ITA) with his 1:22:48, by far the best time of the entered athletes, which in total are 17.

Sunday 28 October 2018 - Takahata (JAP) - 57th All Japan Race Walking Meeting
The list of entered athletes of the 57th All Japan Race Walking Meeting in Takahata is quite different.
Forty-four registered athletes, among which the following athletes stand out:

- Daisuke Matsunaga (JPN): 4th in the 2018 world list with the time of 1:17:46 obtained in Kobe JPN) on Feb. 18, 2018
- Takumi Saito (JPN): 72nd in the 2018 world list with the time of 1:22.23 obtained in Nomi (JPN) on Mar. 18, 2018
but above all it is impressive the number of entered athletes in the 20km: 113 athletes.
It is also very pleasing to note that in both the two 50km there will be a female participation:
- 5 are entered to the 50km of the Italian Championships in Reggio Emilia
- 7 are entered to the 50km of the 57th edition of the All Japan Race Walking Meeting
