04/12/2018   Go ahead for the 50km women in Tokyo

A news worthy of note.

The IAAF Council approved the recommendation to the International Olympic Committee to include the 50km women's race walk.
The women's race will be conducted at the same time as the 50km men race walk and athletes number to be drawn from the current walks quota.

The team that supported this initiative in Monaco was composed by Attorney At Law Paul DeMeester (USA), a great expert in "equity gender" and four athletes: Ines Henriques (POR), Johana Ordonez (ECU), Ainhoa Pinedo Gonzalez (ESP) and Erin Taylor-Talcott (USA) almost joined by Quentin Rew (NZL ).

Russian Federation reinstatement status

The IAAF Council decided not to reinstate RusAF from athletics competitions also for 2019.

The suspension will remain active until the Russian Federation delivers all data from the former anti-doping laboratory in Moscow (LIMS database) to the IAAF. The IAAF Council has been very clear that Russian athletes cannot return to international competitions unconditionally until that issue is resolved one way or the other.

In addition, RusAF will have to pay all costs incurred in the work of the IAAF and in bringing or defending Russian cases to the CAS.

The Russian Federation was suspended in 2015 due to the use of doping substances among its athletes, but in February the International Olympic Committee (IOC) had readmitted it to participate in the Olympic Games, and in September the suspension against the agency Russian anti-doping (Rusada) was revoked by the World Anti Doping Agency (WADA).
