Friday December 7, at the Grezar Stadium in Trieste a nice initiative took place.
Fabio Ruzzier, an athlete known in all continents in particular for his activity in the world of Masters, has singularly celebrated his 50 years of continued activity.
Fifty years dedicated to athletics, of which thirty-seven to race walking in which Fabio Ruzzier has changed ten sports clubs.
Those who know him know very well that even on this occasion a moment of the day had to be dedicated to race walking.
Initially it was thought of a fairly simple thing, among a few close friends, but then the rumor spread that Fabio wanted to celebrate the anniversary by completing 50 laps (one for each year of activity) on the track that had seen him for many years as competitor.
The event was then greatly enlarged and even the TV of the region dedicated a service in Slovenian to the nice initiative.
In his 50 years of activity Ruzzier has managed to participate in five World Race Walking Cups (Turin 2002, Naumburg 2004, Cheboksary 2008, Chihuahua 2010 and Saransk 2012) and two European Race Walking Cup (Miskolc 2005 and Dudince 2013) all under the colors of Slovenia having dual citizenship.
