12/02/2019   Birmingham (GBR): Tom Bosworth e Heater Lewis are the winner of Spar British Athletics Indoor Championships






Birmingham (GBR) hosted the Spar British Athletics Indoor Championships on Sunday, 10 February 2019.

 
The walking events were held at the Birmingham Arena; the distances were that of 5,000m. indoor for men and also for women, who instead usually compete on 3.000m indoors.
 
 
5.000m indoor walk men
 
It was Tom Bosworth (GBR) the eve favorite, and the 29-year-old Brit did not struggle to win the title with a time of 19: 22.56.
It was from the 2015/2016 season that Bosworth did not get a time longer than 19:00.00 on the distance indoors.
The split times of Bosworth were as follows:
- 1.000m in 3:49.37
- 2.000m in 7:43.35 (seconds 1.000m in 3:43.98)
- 3.000m in 11:29.41 (third 1.000m in 3:46.06)
- 4.000m in 15:29.26 (fourth 1.000m in 3:59.85)
- last 1,000m in 3:53.30
 
Second place to Cameron Corbishley (GBR) in 20:29.40
Third posed to Christopher Snook (GBR) in 21:41.47
 
They were ten at the start. Only six completed the race while four athletes were disqualified for failure to comply with rule 230.7 (a), including the young Guy Thomas and Callum Wilkinson.
 
 
 

 

 
 
5.000m indoor walk women
 
Bethan Davies (GBR) took the lead at the start of the race, passing the 1.000m in 4:23.52
At 2.000m is still Davies to lead the race with a split time of 8:53.32 (seconds 1.000m in 4:29.70)
At 3.000m (13:28.32 - thirds 1.000m. in 4:35.00) Heater Lewis takes the lead that will keep until the end.
The Lewis will pass to 4.000m in 18:11.77 (fourth 1.000m in 4 43.45) and will cover the last 1.000m in 4:43.38.
 
Victory to Heater Lewis (GBR) in 22:55.15
Second place to Madeline Shott (GBR) in 25:15.58
Third place to Pagen Spooner (GBR) in 26:43.74
 
They were seven at the start. Only four of them completed the race while three athletes were disqualified for failure to comply with rule 230.7 (a): Bethan Davies, Erika Kelly and young Ana Garcia.
