There was no doubt about who the winner could be, but certainly it was thought that Christopher Linke (GER) could get a good performance: his victory was accompanied by a great time of 18:33.86.
The result, however, represents the new personal best of the athlete (previous of 18:44.32 obtained in Erfurt, GER on Feb. 14, 2016) and the second world performance of the indoor season 2018/2018 behind the 18:28.5 of Vasily Mizinov (RUS) and in front of the 18:47.63 by Francesco Fortunato (ITA).

Second place to Nils Brembach (GER) in 19:08.81

At the moment this is the fifth world performance of the indoor season 2018/2018 behind the 12:44.12 of Eleonora Dominici (ITA) and in front of the 12:49.80 of Ana Cabecinha (POR)
