Saturday 6 April 2019 the international activity of race walking in Europe starts again.
Start again with the 28th edition of the Grand Prix Internacional de Rio Maior, which for the 17th time will be valid as one of the stages of the IAAF Race Walking Challenge. We will never tire of saying thanks to Jorge Miguel the coach of Ines Henriques for this on organizational effort.
Together with La Coruna, Rio Maior is one of the two stages of the IAAF Race Walking Challenge that marked an epoch in race walk in Europe. It boasts a nice record: all the international judges of the IAAF Panel have, at least once, operated in Rio Maior.
In the coming days, as soon as we have the list of entries, we will present the competition to our readers.
On the same day in Podebrady (CZE) will take place the traditional European Permit Meeting of Race Walking also combined with the local National Championships and an international meeting between France, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Lithuania, Slovakia and the Geca Republic.
