04/06/2019   Rieti (ITA): Friday and Saturday the U20 and U23 track walk Italian Championships

Weekend of Italian Championships in Rieti.

The U20 and U23 Individual Championships are in turn with the walking races scheduled for the following days:
Friday 7 June at 19.40: 10,000m U20 / U23 track walk men
Saturday 8 June 9:30: 10.000m U20 / U23 track walk women
Men's events
In the U20 we believe there are no problems for Riccardo Orsoni to win the title of Italian Champion.
The young man credited with an excellent 42 24.56 is fresh from the European Cup victory in Alytus and will certainly want to make his mark on this race.
The most important opponents should be Andrea Cosi (44:27:61) and Aldo Andrei (44: 44.26)
In U23 the best time to credit was Ettore Grillo (42:12.83) who presented himself as the main candidate for the victory.
Other opponents of interest: Juriy Micheletti (43:38:54) and especially Niccolò Coppini (42:52.17) if he will be in the race. The latter is also entered for the IAF Challenge international competition of the Cantones de La Coruna and we do not know at the moment what his preference will be.
Women's events
In U20, in our opinion, the main favorite for the win should be Andrade Lavinia Lacatus who has a personal best of 49:05.16 obtained in Mariano Comense (ITA) on Apr. 22, 2018, while this year, again in Mariano Comense, she has got the mark of 49:39.52.
The young woman is still waiting for the Italian passport that would allow her to compete this year at the European Championships with good chances of placement.
The main opponents are Sara Buglisi (49:27 on 10km on road obtained in Podebrady on Apr. 6, 2019) and Simona Bertini (49:41 on 10km on road obtained in Podebrady on Apr. 6, 2019).
In U23 the main candidate for victory should be Lidia Barcella with her personal best of 47:46.47 obtained in Agropoli (ITA) on June 2, 2018.
The main opponents are Beatrice Foresti (52:46.66 obtained in Mariano Comense, ITA on Apr. 28, 2019) and Elisabetta Bray (51: 43.90 obtained in Mariano Comense, ITA on Apr. 28, 2019).
