20/06/2019   Saransk (RUS): security service in the school of Olympic preparation

The working meeting between the RusAF president Dmitriy Shlyakhtin, the Head of Mordovia Vladimir Volkov and the Mordovia’s sport minister Aleksandr Savilov took place on June 20 in Saransk.

Participants discussed the situation in the region in connection with the previous sports and current commercial activity of life-banned race-walking coach Viktor Chegin.

Here are the statements by RusAf President Dmitriy Shlyakhtin:

The conversation was tough and very specific. Formally, Chegin’s commercial activity does not violate the conditions of his disqualification, however, we understand that security service of his company and access to athletes is a painful issue for the anti-doping services.

Today Vladimir Volkov has set the task Mordovia’s sport ministry to terminate the contract between the Saransk school of Olympic preparation and Chegin’s security company. I really hope that this issue will be resolved in a short time and Chegin will no longer appear in the IAAF task force reports or in the investigative media materials.”
