The XXI edition of Cerro de Buenavista Trophy was held today in Getafe (ESP).

The usual intense participation, even if we are at the end of the season, for the pleasure of the local organizers, in this event scheduled by the Asociación Española de Marcha Atlética.

Athletes have competed on the 10km distance at both male and female levels.

10km men

The prediction of the eve gave as favorite Alvaro Martin (ESP) who did not miss the appointment with the victory in 40:42.

For Alvaro Martin this is the fifth consecutive victory:

- 2015: 40:08

- 2016: 39:50

- 2017: 41:19

- 2018: 42:21

- 2019: 40:21

Second place to Marc Tur (ESP) in 41:59

Third place to Alvaro Lopez Nunez (ESP) in 43:18

Fourteen athletes at the start: thirteen arrived and one DQ.

10km women

Also in the women's event the favorite was the winner of the 2018 edition (47:37) Lidia Sanchez-Puebla.

The 23 year old Spanish did not have much difficulty to win in 46:47 (lowering her time on this course last year by 50"), but failing in the attempt to get the new personal best (previous of 45:16 obtained right here in Getafe on 17.12.2017 when she arrived second behind Laura Garcia-Caro (ESP) who set the course record (45:00) on that occasion.

Third place to Irene Montejo Garces de Marcilla (ESP) in 49:14

Victory to José Martin Mestre (ESP) in 44:38

Second place went to Pablo Pastor Marin (ESP) in 44:43

Third place to Alejandro Cadenaz Poco (ESP) in 46:03

10km U20 and U18 women

Victory in Iria Rivas Iglesias (ESP) in 52:56

Second place went to Eva Rico Rufas (ESP) in 53:07

Third place to Alicia Sanchez Guilarte (ESP) in 54:35
