Mostoles, a city 18km from Madrid and part of the Community of Madrid (ESP), hosted the Madrid Road Walking Championship on Saturday 18 January 2020 and valid for the 13th Mostoles Walking Trophy.
The most important events were the absolute ones on the 20km distance.
20km men
The race lasted up to 15km on the alternation in the lead of the couple composed by Jose Ignacio Dias Velasquez (ESP) and Alvaro Nunez Lopez (ESP) belonging to the U23.
The two stayed together (at a pace of 4:15/km approximately) up to 10km (43:03-43:04) after passing the 5km in (21:43). Towards 12km Dias Velasquez forced his pace and detached Nunez Lopez by a few meters.
At 15km the two went in order: Dias Velasquez in 1:04:23 and Nunez Lopez in 1:04:24
Only in the km between 16km and 17km Ignacio Dias Velasquez forced again the pace and managed to detach Nunez Lopez by about ten seconds, which on arrival increased to 43".

Of the eleven athletes at the start, ten completed the race.

- Senior: Jose Ignacio Dias Velasquez (ESP) in 43:03
- U20: Jose Mestre Martin (ESP) in 44:17
- U18: Guillermo Lopez Huerga (ESP) in 51:40

Almost a solo race of Alicia Sanchez Guilarte (ESP) who wins in 1:53:00 arriving fifth overall.
