The Athletic Federation of India selection committee on Monday selected a 13-member Indian team for the Asian 20km Race Walking Championships to be held at Nomi, Japan on 15 March 2020.
For the Asian Race Walking Championships, after detailed deliberations, the Committee selected the athletes considering the performance of the athletes in the recently concluded 7th National and 3rd International Open Race Walking Championships 2020 held at Ranchi on 15th and 16th February 2020.
The committee also decided to include Irfan KT in the Men 20km event as he has already qualified for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.
At Ranchi, Irfan pulled out in the middle of the competition citing muscle cramps.
