01/03/2020   Piraeus (GRE): Another great indoor result by Antigoni Drisbioti (GRE)






 

 

 

On Friday 28 and Saturday 29 February 2020, the National Indoor Club Championships of Greece were held in Athens in the Indoor plant of Nea Faliro in Piraeus.

 
The two walking races on the distance of 3.000m indoor for women and 5.000m indoor for men took place on Friday 28 February:
- 17.15: 3.000m women
- 17:40: 5.000m men
 
 
3.000m indoor walk women
 
Fourteen athletes at the start.
 
Easy victory for Antigoni Drisbioti (GRE) in 12:28.22.
On the wings of the previous Greek record of 12:27.18 obtained last 9.2.2020 on this same palaindoor, the strong athlete from Greece has looked for another great performance.
At the end of the trace, only 1 second and 4/100 separated it from the new personal best.
Friday's result is the second half of the seasonal indoor world ranking on the distance of 3.000m female walk.
 
Second place to Eustathia Kourkoutsaki (GRE) in 13:32.32 which represents the new personal best for the athlete. The previous of 15:21.17 dates back to the 2017-2018 season and was always established on this Palaindoor on 10.2.2018
Third place to Sofina Alikanioti (GRE) in 13:35.03 by a puff in front of the young rising star  Olga Fiaska (GRE) not yet twenty years old (9.11.2001), who finishes the race in 13:35.88
 
Thirteen athletes complete the race and 1 DQ
