We carried out this research, which we share with our readers, as we were asked by a reader which, in the long history of the national team of Italy, had been the selector who had obtained the greatest number of successes in the most important events International.
We tell you right away that analyzing the history between 1912 and 2019 we found ourselves in front of three monuments from three eras:
- Giuseppe Dordoni who led the national team between 1962 and 1989
- Sandro Damilano who led the national team between 1990 and 2000
- Vittorio Visini who led the national team between 2001 and 2012
Different times also with regard to the number of international reviews.
In its long history, Italy has won a total of 235 medals from 1912 to 2019.
The golds were: 64 individual and 10 in teams.
Our readers will easily understand that the numbers, albeit in their unequivocal clarity, represent the strengths that these three characters have had: the great love for the specialty, the great mutual respect and for the work of those who preceded them, and the great collaboration between them.
