"The Gold Palm for technical merit" is the highest honor conferred by CONI to sports technicians who have distinguished themselves by obtaining high national or international results from their athletes or teams, as well as for significant contribution to technical upgrading and the development of youth '
 
 
Today's news in the national newspaper La Stampa, that two icons of national and international sport have brought the name of the Great Province to the world, raising it to the highest levels: they are the "professor" of volleyball and the "guru" of race walking.
 
It is presumed that, compatibly with the current situation of COVID-19, the official handover to the two will take place in the coming months in Rome.
 
Silvano Prandi (born in San Benedetto Belbo on 13.11.1947) for volleyball, and Sandro Damilano (born in Scarnafigi on 24.2.1950) for race walk, have in common the best possible qualities such as attachment to work, a constantly updated training methodology, and above all the innate ability in transmitting infallible athletes recipes to emerge in their respective sports always in total respect of the opponent and the rules of FairPlay.
 
Of the first we remember the teardrop of the Volleyball Champions League won in Italy in Turin in 1980, the Olympic bronze from Italy's coach and on the day of the 70th birthday the historic conquest of the French championship in volleyball with the company Chaumont.
