On Saturday 6 March at the Spytty Park Leisure Center on Treason Road in Newport UK (GBR) the 2021 edition of the Elite Winter Walks took place, a competition reserved for the best GBR athletes.

 
The walking races took place at 14:25 with the race reserved for men, while the one reserved for women started exactly one minute later.

Only two athletes at the start, but an interesting result.
 
Callum Wilkinson (GBR) won in 39:05.85 which represents the new UK record.
Wilkinson had as personal best on the track distance of 39:52.05 set in Santry, near Dublin (IRL) on 29.8.2020, while on the road distance his best is 39:31 set in Borsky Mikulas (SVK) on 1.6.2019.
Yesterday, with a single stroke of his hand, he wiped out both of them, improving by 46 seconds and 20/100 on his previous one.
