19/04/2021   Eltham (GBR): George Wilkinson (GBR) and Abigail Jenninngs (GBR) have won the 2021 edition of the Graded 3000m Track Race Walks






 

 

 

Cambridge Harriers race walking section is a friendly group that has individuals and teams achieving success at every level. Training and competition is available for beginners, juniors, seniors and masters.

Coach Noel Carmody has many years of experience and has coached athletes at all levels, as well as being an International race Walking Judge.

 

Training takes place on a Tuesday and Thursday from 6pm at Sutcliffe Park Track. Extra sessions are held on a Saturday morning in Danson Park and Sunday mornings in Greenwich Park or Sutcliffe Park.

 

All are welcome, and athletes from other disciplines are encouraged to come along and have a try. A number of the clubs race walkers who have earned selection to international teams (GB & England) have not started their athletic journey as race walkers, but having given it a try, realised that it was an event that they had a talent for.

 

On Saturday 17 April the Cambridge Harriers organized an open running race over the 3.000m track distance in Eltham (GBR).

For the pandemic legislation, the athletes were divided into three series with a maximum number of seven competitors per series.

The strongest series was the third, and in two of the three series the athletes at the start were men and women.

Obviously the best results were obtained in the third series that of the best.

Victory to George Wilkinson (GBR) again U20 who finished the race in 12:52.32

Second place to Luc Legon (GBR) attached by Noel Carmody, in 13:22.22

Third place went to Jonathan Hobbs (GBR) in 13:42.93

 

 

3.000m track walk women

 

Victory to Abigail Jenninngs (GBR) again U23 who finished the race in 14:41.41

Second place to Millie Morris (GBR) again U20 in 15:19.17

Third place went to Hannah Hopper (GBR) in 15:40.81
