20/04/2021   Pamplona (ESP): 2nd Grand Prix "Ciudadela de Pamplona"






 

 

 

At 10:30 on Sunday morning, with the 20km road walk, the 2nd edition of the Grand Prix of the National Athletic Walk Ciudadela de Pamplona began.
Under the supervision of Rodrigo Dominguez, and the full organization of the event by the Federation of Athletics of Navarre, and the precious collaborations of the Municipality of Pamplona and other entities and collaborators, the event saw the participation of several names of prominent of the Spanish national marching team, among which the incombustible Jesus Angel Garcia Bragado stood out.

Victory for Alvaro Lopez Nunes (ESP) in 1:24:11
Luis Corchete who already has the entry standard for the Tokyo Olympics in the 50km walk, was second in 1:25:45.
Third place to Daniel Ballesteros (ESP) who also set the new Navarre record (1:26:39) in the 20km walk. Ballesteros broke the previous record held by the president of the Navarre Athletics Federation, Rodrigo Domínguez, (1:28:09) and set way back in 2.6.2003 in La Coruna (ESP).

Alicia Lumbreras Gonzales (ESP) got the better of the women's category with a time of 1:44:25
Second place to Lara Carasa Ballesteros (ESP) in 1:55:46).

World athletics legend, Jesus Ángel García Bragado (ESP), was the winner of the men's category and broke the Spanish Master M-50 record with 44:13. Furthermore, just yesterday the RFEA head coach announced the participation of Jesus Ángel García Bragado as the fourth athlete of Spain in the next European Cup in Podebrady (CZE).
 
Second place to Juan Manuel Morales Del Castillo (ESP) in 44:18
Third place went to Daniel Ortega Baleiron (ESP) in 46:04
