07/01/2022   Pescara (ITA): certified the course of the Italian 35km Championship




On Sunday, January 16, 2022, the Italian Championship of 35km of road walking reserved to both men and women will take place in Pescara (ITA).
The competition will be valid as a selection for athletes participating to the World Team Walking Championships Muscat 2022 and for the long distance event (35km) of the World Championships in Eugene, Oregon 2022.
The organization of this championship is in charge to Passologico Amateur Sports Association of Pescara chaired by Mauro Trubiano.
The day will then be completed by the races on the 20km distance (men, women and masters) while the U18 and U20 will compete on the 10km distance.
Also for the U20s, the competition will be valid as a selection for Muscat 2022.

- 08:45: km 35 Sen Women
- 09:00: km 35 Sen Men
- 11:15: km 20 Sen Men
- 12:35: km 10 U20-U18 Men
- 12:45: km 20 Sen Women
- 14:00: km 10 U20-U18 Women
The awards ceremony will take place at the Palazzo Aurum in Pescara.
The course
The course was designed along Via Francesco Ferdinando d’Avalos, near the "Giovanni Cornacchia" Adriatic Stadium in Pescara.
The city circuit is totally flat and winds at an altitude of 3m above the sea level, with a zero drop between departure and arrival (coincident).
The circuit was approved on 30 December 2021 by the Meter B - WA-AIMS Francesco la Cara assisted by the meter Fidal Manuela Trivarelli, who will guarantee the measurement on the day of competition.
The course is 500m, of the "go & back" type, with departure and arrival in Via Francesco Ferdinando d’Avalos at the height of Via Elettra and complies with WA-AIMS standards for category A.
