Today's competition in beautiful Hangzhou can be understood as the September Asian Games Trial Competition and is also part of this year's World Championships and Asian Games Trials.
Due to China's strict epidemic prevention policy, women's competition is limited to 20 participants, with 39 men.
The distance is 10km.
The women's competition starts at 8:30 and the men's competition starts at 9:40.
10km women
Immediately a group leading the race is formed, made up of four athletes who will battle to the last meter: Ma Zhenxia, Wu Quanming, Yang Jiayu and Su Wenxiu.
At 5km Yang Jiayu took the lead at 21:43 with the following very fast passes (4:23, 4:21, 4:24, 4:23, and 4:12).
Immediately after 9 seconds the pair made up of Ma Zhenxia and Wu Quanming pass in 21:52
In the sixth lap Ma Zhenxia and Wu Quanming increase the pace (the sixth km in 4:12 and the seventh in 4:15) and catch Yang Jiayu.
The trio stays together up to 9km.
In the last lap Ma Zhenxia, the former athlete coached by Sandro Damilano now trained by Zhang Fuxin, asserts her best speed boost (last km in 4:03) and imposes herself with the new personal best of 42:52 (previous of 43:37, established in Wuzhong (CHN) on 15.12.2020).
Second place to the very young Wu Quanming (born on 11.15.2001) in 42:53 (also for her last km in 4:04). Also for her this performance represents her new personal best (previous of 45:07, established in Tianjin (CHN) on 15.12.2020).
Third place went to Yang Jiayu in 42:58 who has to work hard to offset the return of Su Wenxiu (42:59) who comes in fourth.
Fifth place to Yang Liujing in 43:22

10km men
The race was a little boring.
The start is very fast and the first kilometer is covered by a fugitive in 3:55 who is followed in 2 seconds by a group of ten athletes.
At the second kilometer, eight remain in the lead, who will then be the ones who will compete for the final positions.
They are: Wen Yongjie, Xu Hao, Zhang Jiaxu, Li Yandong, Li Kewen, Zhang Hongliang, Zhang Yao and Sun Shuai.
The group continues at a regular pace of 3: 54 / km up to 5km which is covered in 19:41.
Zhang Yao and Sun Shuai detach from the leading group immediately after 5km, while the other six remain together for another 2km (3:57 and 3:58) when Zhang Hongliang also leaves.
At 8km Wen Yongjie, Xu Hao, Zhang Jiaxu, Li Yandong and Li Kewen pass together in 31:32.
Between 8 and 9km Wen Yongjie and Xu Hao increase the pace with a lap of 3:53. Only Zhang Jiaxu resists, while Li Yandong and Li Kewen lose a few meters.
In the last lap Wen Yongjie, regardless of the red card against him, increases his pace again when he sees on the scoreboard that the main opponent Xu Hao has a red card more than him, and detaches him just enough to clinch the victory.
Victory to Wen Yongjie in 39:10 which represents her new personal best (previous of 39:33 obtained in Wuzhong on 15.12.2020)
Second place to Xu Hao in 39:15
Third place to Zhang Jiaxu in 39:17 which represents his new personal best (previous of 39:43 obtained in Wuzhong on 15.12.2020)
Fourth place to Li Yandong in 39:21 which represents his new personal best (previous of 41.33 obtained in Huangshan on 4.3.2017)
Fifth place to Li Kewen in 39:36.
