The 12th edition of the South American Games that takes place in Asunción, capital of Paraguay (October 1st to 15th), an event within the scope of the South American Sports Organization (ODESUR) that moves 4500 athletes from 34 sports (53 events) and representing 15 Countries.
Athletics starts today and will last until Saturday, the 15th.
According to the event's website, the program includes the 20km walking races today (12), the women's with a departure scheduled for 6:00am and the men's 1 hour later, at 7:00am. (local time).
In turn, the 35 km to be carried out on a road circuit in the Bay of Asunción (Club Mbiguá, Av. Costanera), are scheduled for the 14th, the men at 6:00am and the women at 6:15am.

15.000m are covered in 1:08:10 by Glenda Morejon. Viviane Santana Lyra is detached 250m more or less.

After the gun immediately gibed to lead Brian Daniel Pintado, followed by Eider Orlando Arevalo, Alexander David Hurtado (ECU) and aio Oliveira De Sena Bonfim (BRA).
After 2km stops Cesar Augusto Rodriguez Diburga (PER); at 3.5km decide to abandon also Luis Henry Campos Cruz (COL).
The last athlete to abandon is Manuel Esteban Soto Ruiz (COL) more or less at 5km.
Until 7.000m the leading group is composed by Brian Daniel Pintado (28:29), Eider Orlando Arevalo and Alexander David Hurtado (28:30). Caio Bonfim is detached by 10” (28:40).
At halfway the situation is the following:

Brian Daniel Pintado forces his pace and cover the second part of the race in 39:28 while Alexander David Hurtado cover the second 10.000m in 40:48.
