The competition venue for 20km will be the same of 35km and located as usual in the Takahata Chamber of Commerce and Industry Area.

The start of the athletes competing in All Japan race walking tournament was 8:10 while the women starts at 8:30.

20km men

At the start line there are 45 athletes

Immediately after the start goes to lead Hiroto Jusho.

He was followed by a group of four chasers: Yuta Hoga, Yutaro Murayama, Ryo Hamanishi, and Rihito Ishida.

- at 5km: 

Hiroto Jusho is leading the chasers group by 19 seconds in 19:46.

Yuta Hoga, Yutaro Murayama, Ryo Hamanishi, and Rihito Ishida follows in 20:05

- at 10km: 

The situations doesn’t change. Jusho always leading in 39:38 (second 5km in 19:52)

Yuta Hoga, Yutaro Murayama, Ryo Hamanishi, and Rihito Ishida follows in 40:15 (second 5km in 20:10)

- at 15km: 

The situations doesn’t change. Jusho always leading in 1:00:05 (third 5km in 19:27) but he has charged by two red cards for loss of contact

Yuta Hoga walked third 5km in 20:07 and is second (1:00:22) detached only by 17 seconds from the leader.

Yutaro Murayama and Ryo Hamanishi pass in 1:00:34 and are fighting for the bronze.

- last 5km

At 9:23 Hiroto Jusho receives the third red card and will be stopped in Penalty Area for 120 seconds. It happens only at 9:29.39 after 1:19:39 racing.

Green light to Yuta Hoga for the victory.

1.- Yuta Hoga in 1:20:34 (last 5km in 20:12)

2.- Hiroto Jusho in 1:22:10 (last 5km in 20:05 plu 2:00 stop: 22:05)

3.- Yutaro Murayama in 1:22:35

4.- Ryo Hamanishi in 1:22:54

5.- Rihito Ishida in 1:24:55

20km women

At the start line there are 15 athletes

Victory to Miyu Naito in 1:33:41 who covered 20km with these split times:

- 5km: 23:22

- 10km: 46:40 (23:18)

- 15km: 1:10:06 (23:26)

- last 5km in 23:35

Second place to Yukiko Umeno in 1:325:44

Third place to Ayana Nakamura in 1:40:21
