Una gara abbastanza veloce, con 4 atleti che passano assieme ai 5 km in 20:53.

Insomma, pur in presenza di una giuria abbastanza rigorosa, dobbiamo dire che la bella marcia paga sempre.

A metà gara: Salih Kormaz è ancora leader in 39:42, ma il gruppo degli inseguitori guidato da Perseus Karlstrom e con Alvaro Martin (ESP) e Diego Garcia (ESP) ha accorciato le distanze (39:59). Federico Tontodonati segue in 40:00 seguito da Gabriel Bordier (FRA), Miguel Angel Lopez (ESP), Matteo GFiupponi (ITA) e Francesco Fortunato (ITA)

Federico Tontodonati nel gruppo degli inseguitori riceve una red card per mancanza di contatto.
Ai 12km si assottiglia in vantaggio di Korkmaz (45:41) su Karlstrom Garcia e Martin (47:47).
Viene raggiunto esattamente ai 13km (51:41).
Intanto Francesco Fortunato ha raggiunto prima il compagno di squadra Tontodonati, poi Bordier ed infine Miguel Angel Lopez. Korkmaz riceve una red card per mancanza di contatto, come pure Matteo Giupponi.

Allunga Karlstrom e il solo Martin lo segue. Garcia perde una decina di metri Lopez Stacca di qualche metro Fortunato.
Crisi di stomaco di Korkmaz che viene superato da Lopez, Fortunato e Bordier.
Allunga ancora Perseus Karlstrom e stacca Alvaro Martin che evidentemente mascherava bene la fatica.
La gara sembra chiusa per la vittoria, non per le altre quattro posizioni.

Very punctual departure.
The first lap is completed in 4:34 with Karl Junghannss (GER) in the lead, followed at a short distance by Marco De Luca (ITA) in 4:39 and behind them Ihor Hlavan (UKR) detached by one meter.
The next round the situation does not change with the three four respectively in 9:09, 9:12 the Italian in 9:15.

In the second part of the race, Dimitri Durand and Jose Luis Hidalgo stretch towards 7km and at 9km lead the race in 37:29.
Dimitri Durand (FRA) crosses the finish line first in 41:26, but in the last lap he receives two red cards which, added to the first, assign him a penalty of 60 seconds. He will be fourth in 42:26.

Karlstrom forces his pace and the only Alvaro Martin follows him. Garcia loses about ten meters Lopez gaim some few meters to Fortunato.
Few after a Korkmaz's stomach crisis which is overcome by Lopez, Fortunato and Bordier.
Force again the pace Perseus Karlstrom and take off Alvaro Martin who evidently masked the fatigue well.
