Saturday, January 28 took place in Braga, Portugal, the U20 Indoor Championships with two walk events on the usual distances of 5.000m indoor for men and 3,000m indoor for women.
5.000m U20 men
He won the title of Champion of Portugal Paulo Martins (POR) in 22:16.77 just a time around 30" higher than the personal best that this athlete had recorded in Pombal the previous week at the Indoor Clubs Championships of Portugal (21:50:42).
Second place went to Rodrigo Marques (POR), Club Oriental of Pechao, in 22:28.10 (in Pombal had recorded the personal best of 22:15.71).
Third place went to Daniel Gouveia (POR) in 22: 44.06.
Eight athletes at the start and all have completed the race.
3.000m U20 women
No difficulty in winning for Carolina Costa (POR), Club Oriental of Pechao, in 13:47.88.
The young athlete coached by Paulo Murta, so rewrites, her personal best improving as compared to the time of Pombal (14:25.12) past week.
Second place went to Ines Reis (POR) in 13: 57.57 even for her new personal best (previous of 13:52.94 always established in Pombal on Jan. 22, 2017).
Third place to Maria Bernardo (POR) in 15:16.91.
Also in the race eight athletes at the start and all they have completed the race.
