Saturday and Sunday (13 and 14) were held at the Expocentre in Pombal, the National Indoor Championships of Portugal for the U18 biys and girls.
The distances were the usual 5.000m indoor for boys and 3.000m indoor for girls. Both events took place Saturday 13.
5.000m indoor walk U18 boys
The victory went to João Bernardo (POR), who last year finished third, in 24.33.15
Second place to Diogo Fernandes (POR) in 24.57.47.
Third place to John Pinel (POR) in 25.22.75.
5.000m indoor walk U18 girls
In women, over the distance of 3000 meters, victory to Catarina Santos (POR) in 15:06.33.
Just 12 seconds the distance that separates it from the second classified, Raquel Pimentel (POR) in 15:18.96.
Both these performances constitute personal bests.
Third place to Ana Catarina Mestre (POR) in 15:58.21.
This edition of the championships was the one that had the lowest participation for the two races, with 13 athletes, 4 males and 9 females (2015, with 16 athletes, in 2016, with 21, and 2017, with 16).
The championship records remain unchanged, with 23.03.13 in the men's 5,000m to Rodrigo Marques, and with 14: 33.58 in the women's 3000m to Agnes Kings both obtained in 2016.
