02/09/2019   Yekaterina Medvedeva Ryzhova (RUS): 8 years suspension for anomalies in biological passport (ABP case)

On 08.29.2019 the Integrity Unit of the IAAF has now banned Yekaterina Medvedeva Ryzhova (RUS) for 8 years due to anomalies in the biological passport (article 2.2).
The 25-year-old Russian athlete was one of the most interesting promises of that country's march after winning the U20 world title on the 10,000m track march in Barcelona in 2012.
 
 
The eligibility period begins on March 27, 2019 and will end on March 26, 2027.
They have also been deleted from all the results obtained by the athlete from 31 January 2018 to 27 March 2019.
The result of Sochi (RUS) of 19.2.2018 is therefore canceled when the athlete arrived fourth at the Russian National Winter Championships behind Yelena Lashmanova, Mariya Ponomaryova and Sofiya Brodatskaya.
In Sochi Yekaterina Medvedeva Ryzhova had recorded the time of 1:29:09 with these split times:
- 5km: 22:15
- 10km: 44:09 (21:54)
- 15km: 1:05:49 (21:40)
- last 5km: 23:19
 
The decision can be appealed to the CAS.
