Come per molte altre regole del Regolamento Tecnico Internazionale 2016-2017, dal 1 novembre 2015, sono entrate in vigore, anche per la marcia, i cambiamenti approvati dal Congresso IAAF a Pechino.
Li riassumiamo.
a) le distanze standard che sono:
- per le gare indoor: 3.000m (donne) e 5.000m (uomini)
- per le gare outdoor: 5.000m, 10.000m, 20.000m e 50.000m su pista e 10km, 20km e 50km su strada (uomini e donne)
b) inclusione della Pit Lane Rule (ora Regola 230.7(c) nel RTI), mentre in precedenza era solamente un dispositivo del Consiglio
La riportiamo nella sua versione originale in inglese:
A Pit Lane shall be used for any race where the applicable Regulations for the competition so provide and may be used for other races as determined by the relevant governing body or Organising Committee. In such cases, an athlete will be required to enter the Pit Lane and remain there for the applicable period (as set out in the Regulations or Organising Committee decision) once they have received three Red Cards and are so advised by the Chief Judge or someone delegated by him. If, at any time, the athlete receives an additional Red Card from a Judge other than one of the three who had previously sent a Red Card, he shall be disqualified. An athlete who fails to enter the Pit Lane when required to do so, or remain there for the applicable period, shall be disqualified by the Chief Judge.
Come conseguenza anche la Regola 230.7(d) viene parzialmente modificata in
In Track Races, an athlete who is disqualified shall immediately leave the track and, in Road Races, shall, immediately after being disqualified, remove the distinguishing bibs and leave the course. Any disqualified athlete who fails to leave the course or track or comply with directions given under Rule 230.7(c) to enter and remain for the required period in the Pit Lane may be liable to further disciplinary action in accordance with Rule 145.2.
I primi Record Mondiali sulla distanza dei 50.000m marcia su pista e dei 50km su strada donne verranno riconosciuti a partire dal 31.12.2015.
