C’è un sola favorita per la vittoria ed è Meryem Bekmez (TUR) la quale ha come avversarie le compagne di squadra Ayse Tekdal e Evan Demir e Kiriaki Filtisakou (GRE). Come outsider ci sono le due francesi: Pauline Stey e Camille Moutard.
La gara infatti è un assolo della forte atleta della Turchia, che fra l'altro offre anche al pubblico nuna bella marcia.

La Russa Elvira Kashanova che gareggia come ANA che fino ai 4km era in seconda posizione viene fermata nella zona di penalità per 120 secondi e transita in 17° posizione.

E' seguita da Ayse Tekdal (52:00) e Kiriaki Filtisakou (52:21). Evin Demir è quarta in 52:26 mentre Pauline Stey (FRA) passa in quinta posizione in 52:47.
Elvira Kashanova (ANA) è stata squalificata.

Meryem Bekmez è la leader incontrastata e passa in 1:13:57.
In seconda posizione è ora Kiriaki Filtisakou (1:15:51) che ha superato Ayse Tekdal (1:16:13). Quarta è la Francese Pauline Stey (1:16:22) che precedede la Spagnola Antia Chamosa (1:16:56)

Fino ai 18km non cambia nulla con Meryem Bekmez in testa (1:23:25) e Kiriaki Filtisakou in seconda posizionne (1:25:31).
Subito dopo la greca ha un crollo improvviso e poco prima dei 19km viene superata dalla Francese Pauline Stey che transita ai 19km in 1:30:21 in seconda posizione. Kiriaki Filtisakou è terza in 1:30:24 ma non finirà la gara.

Secondo posto a Pauline Stey (FRA) in 1:34:47 che stabilisce il nuovo personal best (precedente di 1:35:58 stabilito a Podebrady, CZE il 16.5.2021)
